About Sunrise Suffolk
Sunrise Suffolk is a living field guide to Suffolk — walks, waterways, wild places, history and hidden corners, explored, photographed and continually updated by a Suffolk local.
It is digital-only and independent. We cover coast and beaches, rivers and kayaking, ancient woods and heathland, wildlife, ruins and churches, folklore and social history, industrial and maritime heritage, towns and villages, oddities and curiosities, sunrise, sunset and stars, local food — and the quiet corners in between. Written clearly, without jargon, and useful whether you live here or are visiting.
What we do
Our goal is simple: give you the practical detail — distance, terrain, parking, dogs, facilities — alongside an honest sense of what a place is actually like.
Guides begin as careful research and grow over time — enriched with personal visits, original photography, walks, paddles and local discoveries. Nothing is labelled as personally visited unless it genuinely has been.
